What do tottenham fans call arsenal

They are probably fuming that they have never been able to reclaim what they lost so many decades ago. No matter how successful or poor either club becomes in the future, their closeness will ensure that a spirited rivalry is always in place. Though it was over 93 years ago, a good deal of the animosity that fuels this rivalry stems from the dubious promotion of Arsenal over Tottenham to the First Division in The Gunners had finished fifth to Spurs' third, and normally the latter would have been promoted.

But, under somewhat dubious circumstances, the head of the FA recommended Arsenal be promoted, and Tottenham were defeated by a vote of 18 votes to eight. Admittedly, there was probably some measure of shady backroom business done before the vote. And I certainly understood where Spurs fans come from when they resented this injustice—93 years ago. But both teams have been in the first division for decades, and Arsenal have ironically not been relegated since this shady promotion.

Davies draws a modicum of hope from Arsenal's current state of disrepair. I asked Davies if he rues the day he chose to support Tottenham. He dismissed the question calmly yet emotionally. Arsenal practically changed countries when they moved from the South of London to the North [in We have a much richer history and that is what I love.

Arsenal fan Stone also draws on history to explain the mechanics of his connection. This game is like an episode of 'Downton Abbey' in which we are the Upstairs and they are the Downstairs. They are like Daisy [the character who is a mousy kitchen maid]. Arsenal are like Lord Grantham. Grand yet slightly stuck in our ways as the modern world passes us by.

He was a rare positive in a difficult 12 months for the Gunners. And he continues to make a huge impact now that Arsenal are moving forward. And finding out that he snubbed the chance to move across North London has only increased that popularity amongst the supporters.

AFCMet November 10, This is my guy. With 13 league titles and 14 FA Cups Arsenal's trophy cabinet requires a lot more polish than that of Spurs, who have eight FA Cup wins to their name and last won England's top prize in And, even though Spurs boast a greater number of continental trophies, Arsenal have been much more of a fixture in the likes of the Champions League and Europa League.
